CIR Installs Large Urban Solar Energy Array at Bausch and Lomb
by jb@norrisclifton.com
BUFFALO, NY - Jeff Pedro, Chief Financial Officer of CIR Electrical Construction Corporation, announced today that Bausch and Lomb, the company that invented the contact lens, is expanding their facility in Rochester New York in order to produce a new line of contact lens. Included in this expansion is a large solar energy installation, commissioned by Advanced Solar Products and installed by CIR Electric. The 1.1 megawatts of clean energy produced by the solar array, will significantly offset costs at the manufacturing facility.
The solar energy array sits on 3.6 acres and produces enough electricity to power 175 average sized homes each year. There are 3,667 solar panels mounted at a 25-degree angle facing south. This urban solar array is one of the largest in the area, and helps greatly reduce Bausch and Lomb's carbon footprint.
