4TH ANNUAL BUFFALO-NIAGARA EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

CIR Electric is pleased to announce our participation in the 4th Annual Buffalo Niagara Earth Day Celebration.  Along with many organizations and businesses throughout Erie and Niagara counties, CIR has pledged its involvement to lessen our environmental impact as part of this important initiative. In doing so, we are encouraging all of our employees to commute to work by carpooling, walking, biking, or taking Metro bus or rail on or around Earth Day (April 22nd)

With the Buffalo Niagara Earth Day Celebration, we hope to expand Western New York's awareness of alternative transportation and encourage new modes of travel for our daily commuting routines.  Our participation will also help prove that the Buffalo-Niagara region is seriously committed to reducing fuel use and resulting emissions, and to becoming a more sustainable region.

We encourage you to consider pledging your individual support to commute "Green" on Earth Day 2011 by visiting www.BuffaloEarthDay.com.  While at the website you can also link to environmentally positive events happening in Western New York on and around Earth Day, via www.GrowWNY.org.  To find ridesharing matches in WNY, check out the Greater Buffalo-Niagara Regional Transportation Council's website at www.GoodGoingWNY.com.  By simply entering a starting address and a destination, the program will identify carpool matches, bus options, and bicycling routes that provide alternatives to the single-car work commute, and your personal information will not be shared with other users.

In addition to pledging a "Green" commute on Earth Day, we are also encouraging our employees to take part in events such as stream cleanups, eco-fairs, and school contests, all of which are highlighted on www.BuffaloEarthDay.com and www.GrowWNY.org.   We have a great opportunity this coming Earth Day to make a collective difference in reducing our environmental footprint.  Thank you in advance for being a positive representative of CIR in this regard!
