APRIL 2010 - GEARING UP FOR EARTH DAY
As mentioned in last month's newsletter, CIR has pledged again this year to encourage all of our employees to carpool, bike, walk or take public transportation to work on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22nd, to help demonstrate WNY's commitment to going green.
In preparation for the big event next week, we've sent reminders out to all of our employees encouraging them to make their individual pledges. We've also registered as an employer on www.GoodGoingWNY.com to help our employees organize carpools with other registered CIR employees.
I hope you'll be joining me and many others who have taken the pledge to use alternative transportation this Earth Day. If you haven't already, visit www.buffaloearthday.com and pledge your individual participation, and be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter where among other things, I'll be posting updates of my car-free adventures on Earth Day, which is also the day of my final studio review.
Don't forget there are over a week's worth of activities happening around WNY in honor of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day that you can participate in as well. Be sure to check our event listing in our Environmental Update to see which ones interest you.| News | ||||||
