JULY 2010 - GREENING CIR RECAP

Tue, Jul 13th 2010 08:00 am

July marks the two-year anniversary of CIR's electronic newsletter.  As we look back on the last two years, it's easy to see that we've taken a lot of steps towards being a more sustainable company.  We take our Sustainability Statement seriously, and we use it as a framework to help us to reach our sustainability goals.  Here's what we've been doing:

We're exhibiting our leadership role in the community by participating in local events.

We're leading by example by making incremental changes to reduce our own environmental footprint.

We're educating our employees on the latest technologies and green building practices.

We're pursuing partnerships with industry organizations and local businesses that can help us to provide additional energy related services to our customers.

We're keeping our customers informed of energy-related news and technologies through this newsletter and social networks.

We're using our expertise to help our customers reduce their environmental impacts as well.

But we're not finished, so keep reading our newsletters and checking our website.  Because of the rate in which technologies are advancing and policies and incentives are changing and evolving, our sustainability efforts will be a continual and never-ending process.  As that loveable Muppet, Kermit the Frog put so simply, "It's not easy being Green."
